Position Overview
The Corporate Staff Accountant is a hybrid position based in Westminster, Colorado. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining the accuracy of multiple balance sheet accounts while performing transactional accounting functions as needed. The position requires an understanding of accounting principles and entries, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Job Duties
Month-End and Weekly Close Duties
Own or assist in multiple duties on both a weekly and monthly cadence, including:
- Accurate weekly reconciliation of bank and intercompany balance sheet accounts.
- Maintenance of monthly standard entries.
- Ownership of all balance sheet reconciliations for weekly review and month-end close.
- Booking accounting entries as part of the monthly close cycle.
- Assisting with balance sheet and profit and loss review and research.
- Supporting year-end audit and tax requirements.
Cash Application
- Accurately apply cash receipts, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions.
- Work with operating companies to resolve discrepancies as needed.
Accounts Payable
- Manage accounts payable for an assigned operating company.
- Process invoices, verify expenses, and ensure timely payments.
- Use prior experience to assist with the selection and implementation of accounts payable automation software.
Fixed Assets Management
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
- Record acquisitions, disposals, and asset transfers.
- Maintain depreciation schedules in accordance with company policies.
Corporate Credit Card Administration
- Administer the corporate office credit card platform.
- Code expenses and upload transactions into the operating system.
Additional Responsibilities
- Prepare financial reports and support other accounting functions as needed.
- Serve as a key resource for ERP-related questions and accounting research.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of accounting or finance experience.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred
- Construction industry experience a plus.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Primarily office-based work environment.
- Regular use of computers and office equipment.
- Occasional lifting of supplies and materials.
- Extended periods of sitting, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, movement, and repetitive motion.
- Occasional travel to operating company locations.
